I recently visited the new Community Diagnostics Centre at Cannock Chase Hospital.
It’s no secret that our NHS was badly hit by the pandemic. That’s why the government has made the NHS a top priority.
The government has recruited record numbers of doctors and nurses to cut waiting lists. Alongside this the government have been investing in a programme of new community diagnostic centres, including in Cannock. This means local people can get quicker diagnoses, catch problems earlier and get the treatment they need.
This latest investment in the hospital sees it now playing host to cutting edge equipment that will see patients getting faster diagnosis of their health issues.
The new Community Diagnostic Centre that has opened at Cannock Chase Hospital has four state-of-the-art scanners, two CT scanners and two MRI scanners. The new facility will take around 30,000 images per year, taken to help diagnose patients quicker and more efficiently.
We all know how hard our local doctors, nurses and medical professionals work and how much they care for their patients. But they also need the investment in the best equipment and facilities, which is why I’m so pleased that this investment has taken place at Cannock Chase Hospital.
Patients from Cannock Chase, as well as the wider area, will be seen at this facility, easing the burden on other local hospitals, and speeding up diagnosis of conditions.
It is great news that the facility is now open and scanning its first patients.
Cannock Hospital is at the heart of the community and delivers a wonderful service to everyone. We all know how important the hospital is to us all. This investment and new facilities on site see the value of the hospital enhanced even further.
If you have been at the new diagnostic centre, please let me know how you got on, especially if you have positive comments you would like me to pass on to the team from the hospital.
As always, if you need my help with anything at all, please do not hesitate to contact me via e-mail at amanda.milling.mp@parliament.uk or by telephone on 01543 877 142.
