Delivering higher skilled, better paid jobs within Cannock Chase is a key focus of my work as your Member of Parliament.

I want to see local people not only get the best education they can, leaving school or college with the skills employers need, but I also want local businesses to thrive and be able to provide the jobs we need in Cannock Chase.

As part of this work, I regularly visit local businesses and local education providers to discuss how we can best work together to help boost the local job market and skills base.

Local education providers such as Cannock College are training up students in a variety of fields and these are skills that are sought after by many local businesses. By linking up local businesses and further education providers, we can help kick start local young people’s careers.

I am always hugely impressed by the variety of businesses in Cannock Chase. Throughout my time as Member of Parliament, I have had the pleasure of seeing numerous local businesses operating at the top of their respective industries.

From industrial fabricators to manufacturing, and IT services to the aviation industry, Cannock Chase is home to so many industries. I am always keen to support all our local businesses, in any way I can, to help them to grow and prosper, and in turn, create more local jobs.

Recently, I visited another fantastic local business who are at the top of their industry, Weedon Packing Solutions. This exceptional business creates packaging products and displays for many brands including supermarkets and many well-known household names.

They work with various brands to design and build promotional displays. Whilst there, I saw display stands that even resembled a F1 car. These designs are both intricate and elaborate, and at the same time made easy to assemble by the end-user. These displays are designed in-house right here in Cannock Chase.

I am also pleased to see that the company is actively recruiting, with a wide range of vacancies across the whole business. If you are looking for a new challenge, don't delay, send them your CV today. To find out more about the business and vacancies visit www.weedongroup.com.

As always, if you require my help with anything at all, please do not hesitate to contact me via e-mail at amanda.milling.mp@parliament.uk or by telephone on 01543 877142.
