Amanda Milling MP

Amanda Milling, Member of Parliament for Cannock Chase, is hosting a free online webinar for businesses interested in taking part in the Government’s new Kickstart Scheme.

The Kickstart Scheme is designed to help create new job placements for 16 to 24-year olds on Universal Credit and at risk of long-term unemployment.

Businesses which are able to guarantee 6-month positions will receive funding that provides 100% of the National Minimum wage for the participant for 25 hours per week and associated employer costs such as National Insurance and automatic enrolment contributions.

The webinar will take place on Friday 5th February 2021 at 9.30am and will include representatives from the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) and the local Chamber of Commerce.

Amanda Milling MP said: “The Kickstart Scheme is an important way to support people back into the workplace. It benefits the employee and the employer and I am excited to be working with our local Job Centre Plus to deliver this online event. I hope that many local businesses sign up and join me at the online event.”

“I would encourage all those businesses, large or small, that are interested in taking part in the Scheme, or just want to hear a little more about it, to join the webinar and see if this is something that could be mutually beneficial to their business as well as to a young person.”

To register for a place, please email amanda.milling.mp@parliament.uk or call 01543 877142.
