I know how important the No 62 bus service from Cannock to Lichfield is to many residents across Cannock Chase.

After concerns were raised about its possible withdrawal, I contacted the Traffic Commissioner for the West Midlands, Chase Rider and Staffordshire County Council to stress the importance of the No 62 bus route.

I am pleased that Staffordshire County Council have stated the service is secure for the time being and will not be withdrawn in June 2022 as originally believed.

Whilst this news is undoubtedly positive, Chase Rider maintains that the No 62 bus continues to make a loss. I would strongly encourage all residents to make as much use of the service as possible to demonstrate the importance this route holds to the local community.
