My annual “Best of Cannock Chase” competition calls on residents to vote for their favourite local independent businesses. As ever, hundreds of businesses battled it out to be crowned the public’s favourite independent retailer in Cannock Chase.
Over the past few weeks, the UK has hosted COP26 in Glasgow. This was an international climate summit to agree a global strategy to tackle climate change.
I was delighted to attend in my capacity as Minister for Asia at the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO).
Next week we will mark Remembrance Day. A day where we pay tribute to the service and sacrifice of all those who have defended our freedoms and protected our way of life.
These past weeks have been some of the hardest in my six years in Parliament.

People in Cannock Chase are set to benefit from today’s Budget with the regeneration of Cannock Town Centre given the go-ahead as part of the Government’s commitment to level up every part of the United Kingdom.
During the recent Cabinet reshuffle, I was privileged to be given a new position in Government as Minister for Asia at the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office, focusing on the Asia brief. I’m looking forward to banging the drum for the United Kingdom on the global stage.
It was lovely to join everyone taking part in the Walk for Eileen 2021.
Organised by Rob Pitcher, the annual 10k walk is a tribute to his late wife and a fundraising event for the Monthly Alzheimer's Support Evenings (MASE).
